Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Sommer Adebayo, the heart behind The Well Connected Family. As a foster and adoptive caregiver and an LPC-Associate, I’ve experienced firsthand the joys and challenges that come with parenting children from hard places. This website was born out of a deep calling to serve families like mine with faith, compassion, and practical tools that truly make a difference. Here, you’ll find encouragement for your journey, resources to strengthen your home, and a community that understands the unique path you’re walking. Whether you’re just starting or have been on this road for years, welcome home.
My journey into foster and adoptive caregiving wasn’t something I mapped out; it unfolded one faithful step at a time. Before I ever opened my home, I spent years in the classroom as an educator, where I first witnessed how deeply trauma can impact a child’s ability to learn, trust, and connect. Those early experiences opened my eyes and softened my heart in ways I didn’t fully understand until much later. When our family stepped into foster care, I realized just how needed strong, faith-rooted support really is, not only for the children, but for the caregivers as well.
That realization became the foundation for The Well Connected Family. It's a space shaped by lived experience and professional insight where biblical truth meets everyday challenges. Through this work, I combine my background in education and counseling with my calling as a caregiver to pour into families who are doing sacred work in unseen places. My hope is that this space feels like a deep breath, a helping hand, and a reminder that healing is possible one connection at a time.
